Spice Rubbed NY Steak
We’ve been experiencing summer weather around here and so it’s time for some summer time food. I almost have lots of corn meal around and nothing’s simpler and easier to pull together than corn bread. You just need about 40 minutes from start to finish.
I looked up a recipe online and found this one, to which I made to alterations. First, I happened to have heavy whipping cream on hand and so used that rather than the half and half, and I used a sugar substitute instead of real sugar.
It was probably the best corn bread I’ve ever made.
This poor recipe is was only achieved half way. It calls for a serrano chile, which by the time I got around to doing the recipe had gone bad. I had also used up all of my avocados and I hadn’t been able to find chipotle chilli powder (several days later though I did… figures). I’ll have to try this one again some time
It was decent, but probably could have been better.
