Today’s meal comes from Food Network Magazine; the Low Country Boil with shrimp, sausage and potatoes (and more). Check out the recipe here.┬áThe recipe as is supposedly serves 8-10. We halved the recipe for the 3 of us and there was SO MUCH FOOD! We still have a large bowl full of food. Really good, and it’s so simple. Just a big pot of water with a crab and shrimp boil seasoning packet boiling away, and you throw in the rest a bit at a time, potatoes first, shrimp last. I wished I had had newspaper so I could have dumped it out onto the table, real low country boil style. Tasted just as good on my white plates....

Blackened Shrimp Tacos

It’s been awhile since I did a post with food I cooked. Isaac’s been busy dazzling kids with his magical skills in the Dakotas and Minnesota for the past couple of weeks (3 out of the last 5, to be exact). I don’t feel inspired to cook for Ella and I, as Ella doesn’t like much of what I make any way. I made pigs in a blanket one evening. To be fair, I did put gruyere cheese in half of them (my half). Isaac’s home and it’s time again to make family meals. Funny thing is I made Ella a separate dinner because this one was caliente! We start the week with blackened shrimp tacos. The recipe is in the current issue of Cooking Light Magazine. The recipe starts with a spice blend, the first ingredient of which was paprika. I went with the smoked paprika I bought off of Amazon awhile back. Running short on time so I enlisted Isaac to help. While I mixed up spices...
